Street traders have taken over the walk ways provided alongside the newly constructed roads across Ogun State.

Great Achiever Magazine reports that the traders have virtually taken over the walk ways where they wantonly display their wares, thereby making it difficult for pedestrians to access the walk ways.

Places mostly affected by the unbecoming attitudes of the traders are: Panseke, Omida, Sapon, Lafenwa, Iyana Mortuary, Isale Ake, Itoku, Adigbe, all in Abeokuta.

Other places are: Akarigbo road, Sabo, Isale Oko, in Sagamu, as well as the stretch of Lagos garage-Folagbade-Ibadan road in Ijebu-Ode.

Great Achiever Magazine further observed that the traders usually have a field day as there was no government official or agency to caution them.

Attempts by some public spirited citizens to call the traders to order have led to verbal assault and abuse by the traders.

Some residents who spoke to Great Achiever Magazine appealed to the state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, not to ignore the nuisance which the traders have turned themselves to and act decisively to ensure that sanity prevails in the areas affected.
