In December 2023, the Governor gave a N100,000 Christmas bonus across board to State civil servants for the Christmas festivities, and became one of the only 3 State Governors in the country to dole out such largesse that year, now the first in 2024.

ait.live recalls that, the latest Christmas bonus to workers in the State service is coming just days after the Ebonyi State chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) called off its warning strike over allegations that the State government failed to comply with the full implementation of the new national Minimum Wage, with regards to the consequential adjustments for workers above Grade Levels 1-2.
