A leading aspirant for the 2023 House of Representatives election, Asiwaju Tele Ogunjobi, has urged government to intensify efforts aimed at reforming the energy sector, Great Achiever Magazine reports.

Ogunjobi made the call on Wednesday, February 16, during his closing remarks at the 3rd edition of Ladi Adebutu Good Governance Symposium held at, His Place Event Centre, Ota, Ogun State.

He said energy sector is very critical to economic prosperity as Micro Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (MSMEs) and industrial giants alike depend on it for survival.

Ogunjobi said energy sector is the major driver of production processes and “if the country must witness a turn around in the economy, the energy sector must be urgently fixed”.

He therefore appealed to government to ensure enabling environment for good governance and effective legislation that will transform the energy sector, adding that the clamour for industrialization will come to nought if government fails to do the needful.

In another development, Asiwaju Tele Ogunjobi, a Chartered Accountant and notable politician, has debunked a purported claim on social media by one Kenny Bello, an aspirant from Ijebu East local government of Ogun State, that he has stepped down from contesting the election for the House of Representatives.

Ogunjobi described the claim of his purported stepping down as the biggest fake news, which is the handiwork of those who are afraid to go into contest with him, adding that he remains the candidate to beat in the Ijebu North/Ijebu East/Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency election.

He therefore urged his teeming supporters to remain calm and disregard such blatant lies which was concocted by those who are not popular and cannot win their ward election, not to talk of the Federal Constituency election.

Asiwaju Tele Ogunjobi said he has no doubt that he would emerge victorious in the PDP’s primary election anytime it is conducted.
