The 2024 Annual Sofare festival of the Awori Village, Ago-Iwoye, will begin on Friday, 16th August, 2024, while the grand finale will hold on Sunday 18th August, 2024, at Luborogi-Awori/Awori Primary School field.

The Alase of Awori, Chief Adesegun Osuntoye, while speaking on the Annual Sofare festival, said it is a period during which sons and daughters of all villages that make up Awori, who are descendants of Sooja, come together at Awori Luborogi to perform traditional rites to appease their ancestors and offer prayers in appreciation of high yields of their farm produce.

The Sofare festival period, according to Chief Osuntoye, offers a great opportunity to pray for a stop to evil occurrences in their community, as those who are looking for the fruit of the womb, successes in their businesses, good health and other good things of life are prayed for as well.

In the same vein, all sons and daughters of Awori Villages as well as their friends and well wishers will gather for reunion and merry making.

A member of the 2024 Sofare festival planning committee and the Traditional Head (Baale) of Abapaanu Moborode Village, Chief Bosun Sipe, while speaking with Great Achiever Magazine, said Sofare festival is a veritable avenue for indigenes of Awori to come together to discuss the challenges confronting the villages and offer lasting solutions to them.

Chief Sipe urged all sons and daughters of Awori Villages to always come home, especially during the Sofare festival to be part of efforts to develop Awori.

Meanwhile, Ogun State Lawmaker, Hon. Segun Kaka, who is representing Ifelodun State Constituency in Ogun State House of Assembly, has paid a solidarity visit to the Alase Awori in Council in preparation for the 2024 Sofare festival.

Hon. Kaka, during the visit, pledged his unflinching support to the success of the Annual event.
