Prince Dapo Abiodun
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Prince Dapo Abiodun as the winner of Ogun State governorship election conducted on Saturday, 18th March, 2023, thus winning reelection for a second term.
Great Achiever Magazine reports that the INEC Returning Officer, Prof. Kayode Adebowale, the Vice Chancellor of University of Ibadan, while announcing the results at INEC office in Abeokuta on Sunday, 19th March, 2023, disclosed that Prince Dapo Abiodun, the candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), scored 276,298 votes to defeat his closest rival and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu, who scored 262383 votes.
Abiodun won with a margin of 13,915 votes
Meanwhile, the PDP has called for a rerun of the election due to the inclusion of results from 15 polling units in Sagamu local government which were earlier cancelled due to disruption of voting and ballot box snatching at the 15 polling units.
