An insurance expert, Prince (Dr) Feyisayo Soyewo, has lauded the Nigeria Police Force over the fight against cultism and other vices in the country, Great Achiever Magazine reports.

Prince Soyewo, the Chief Executive Officer of Prestige Insurance Brokers, gave the commendation at the launch of Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV), on Thursday, 3rd March, 2022, at Ago-Iwoye.

The foremost community leader and Olori Omooba of Ago-Iwoye, said he welcomed the POCACOV initiative with so much joy and enthusiasm when he received an invite from the Police as Special Guest of Honour at the event.

He commended the Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye, Oba Abdul-Razaq Adesina Adenugba, for partnering with the Police to launch POCACOV in his domain.

Prince Soyewo recalled the past efforts of Oba Adenugba in singlehandedly combatting cultism, which he described as a cankerworm in Ago-Iwoye and environs, adding that with the POCACOV initiative, cultism and other vices will be drastically reduced if not totally eliminated.

He called on members of the public to collaborate with the Police, who has the wherewithal and apparatus needed to fight the menace of cultism and other vices.

Soyewo commended the large turnout of youths, students, market women and artisans at the occasion, saying that with the commitment of people like Maj. Gen. S.A Awosanya and other stakeholders at the event, and coupled with the yearnings to collaborate with the Police in fighting the cankerworm, cultism will soon be a thing of the past.

He charged parents to be alive to their responsibilities and query the source of ill gotten and sudden wealth of their children which may be proceeds of crime, anytime it is noticed.

Prince Soyewo also advised government to step up its efforts in the fight against insecurity in the country, noting that Nigerians now live in fear as a result of increasing crimes such as kidnapping, armed robbery, banditry and insurgency.
