The Managing Director of Ogun Oshun River Basin Development Authority (OORBDA), Engr Femi Odumosu, has confirmed that Ogun State government did not stop the ongoing Igan road rehabilitation in Ago-Iwoye.

Engr Odumosu disclosed this on Tuesday during  his visit to the Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye, Oba Abdul-Razaq Adesina Adenugba, at his palace.

Odumosu, who admitted that OORBDA failed to inform the state government before the contractor moved to site, blamed administrative hiccups for the mistake.

He however confirmed that the issues generated by the mistake had been resolved with the state government, while the contractor handling the road rehabilitation had since commenced work with a substantial part of the road rehabilitation work done.

Engr Odumosu said the temporary stoppage of work on Igan road presently was to enable the contractor effect some amendments.

In his remark, Oba Adenugba thanked Engr Odumosu for his visit, and also putting the record straight as regards the status of the ongoing roads rehabilitation in Ago-Iwoye.

The monarch appealed to the people of Ago-Iwoye to remain calm and peaceful, advising that the present turnaround being witnessed in the town should be embraced by all.

He also called on other indigenes of Ago-Iwoye who are political office holders to facilitate more development projects to the town, adding that the town is big enough to accommodate all projects facilitated by political office holders of different political affiliation.

Great Achiever Magazine reports that the ongoing roads rehabilitation in Ago-Iwoye had generated controversies in the last few weeks, with some people claiming that the contractor handling Igan road rehabilitation had been sent packing by the state government.

It will be recalled that Hon Adesegun Adekoya, Member, House of Representatives and Deputy Minority Whip, facilitated the ongoing roads rehabilitation in Ago-Iwoye as part of his constituency projects, while OORBDA is the federal government agency that awarded the roads rehabilitation contract.
