It was encomium galore on Saturday, September 28, as Otunba
Olorunfemi Bamgbelu, the Reyin of Tireyinland, was honoured with the Award of
Illustrious Son of Oru-Ijebu.

In his welcome address, the Publisher of Great Achiever
Magazine, Mr. Yomi Ogunsanu, described Otunba Bamgbelu as a philanthropist of
note whose numerous contributions to the development of his community remain
indelible.

The Publisher recalled how Otunba Bamgbelu, out of his
undying love for his community and humanity, equipped Oru Health Centre with
some household items such as ceiling fans and freezers, offered education
scholarship to many Oru indigenes including the runner-up of the 2018 Miss
Reyin festival, took care of the elderly and widows through the Hope
Foundation, a non-governmental organisation which he established in 2011, sponsored
annual enrolment into Boys Brigade of St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Oru-Ijebu, empowered
many artisans and several other good gestures which endeared him to his people.

Chief Okubena said since Otunba Bamgbelu was installed as the
Reyin of Tireyin in 2018, the community, which has enjoyed peaceful
co-existence, has continued to grow in leaps and bounds. A feat he attributed
to the selfless service of Otunba Bamgbelu to his community.

The Iyalode Egbe Maiyegun Obinrin, Oru-Ijebu, Mrs. Funmilayo
Lamina, on behalf of her colleagues acknowledged the generosity of Otunba Bamgbelu
and commended him for showing good leadership in the community. She called on
