Ago-Iwoye notable sons and daughter bag Excellence Awards

Great Achiever Magazine has honoured some indigenes of Ago-Iwoye with Excellence Awards. They are: Alhaji Mustapha Sola Bello, Giwa (Tpl) Adewale Taiwo (Giwa Egbe Tobalase Prestige Ago-Iwoye), Otun Giwa Tajudeen Beckley Oyebanjo, OmoOba (Dr.) Tosin Adeyemi, Akorede Abdul-Lateef Odusanya, Asogbon Lebi Odunayo, Hon. Fausat Juliet Paul, Kayode Adewale, Ayodele Awobona and Heritage Brothers Club, Ago-Iwoye.

The event, which took place on Saturday, 18th January, 2025, at Ago-Iwoye City Hall, had in attendance eminent personalities which included: HRH Oba Abdul-Razaq Adesina Adenugba, Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye, Maj. Gen. S.A Awosanya, Baba Oba of Ago-Iwoye and Founder, Aletheia University, Ago-Iwoye, Oluomo (Dr.) Femi Bakre, Oluomo of Ago-Iwoye, Barrister Yekeen Ajibola Odusanya, Comptroller of Nigeria Customs Service, Alhaja Medinat Kazeem, Iya Adinni of Ago-Iwoye (Mother of the Day and also representative of Aare (Dr) Alhaji Safiriyu Kazeem, the Special Guest of Honour), Olori Modupe Shotobi, Hon. Bolaji Odusanya, Chairman, Ijebu North Local Government and his Deputy, Hon. Oluyemi Adesegun (Adeland).

In his welcome address, the Publisher, Great Achiever Magazine, Yomi Ogunsanu, said Excellence Award is an honour conferred on an individual or organization to recognize their exceptional performance, achievements or contributions in a specific field or industry, adding that the purpose of Excellence Awards is to celebrate and acknowledge achievements, and to inspire others by showcasing exemplary standards.

He said Great Achiever Magazine has always emphasized that it is better to honour and celebrate people of exemplary lives and great accomplishments when they are still alive and relevant to the society, as this singular gesture will by no means motivate them to do more.

The Chairman of the occasion, Maj. Gen. S.A Awosanya, in his speech, commended Yomi Ogunsanu for using his publication to project Ago-Iwoye and its people, noting that the sons and daughter of Ago-Iwoye identified for the Excellence Awards are people that deserved the honour being bestowed on them.

Awosanya disclosed that he has been following Great Achiever Magazine and its Award ceremonies over the years, adding that he has never been disappointed with the calibre of people that are presented for Awards. He therefore congratulated the Awardees for being found worthy of the honour and advised them to continue to do more in their service to humanity.

The Baba Oba of Ago-Iwoye also recommended Yomi Ogunsanu to Oba Adenugba and the people of Ago-Iwoye for the conferment of Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his selfless service to the community and society at large.

The Special Guests of Honour at the occasion, Oluomo (Dr) Femi Bakre and Barrister Yekeen Ajibola Odusanya in their separate remarks congratulated the Awardees for the honour bestowed on them and urged them to continue to live above board and not relent in their efforts to bring about positive change in their community and society at large.

The Mother of the Day, Alhaja Medinat Kazeem, while congratulating the Awardees on the well-deserved honour in her remarks, advised them to sustain their contributions to the development of their community and also serve as inspiration to others.
