The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State Council, led by the Chairman, Comrade Wale Olanrewaju has again visited the family of Late member of the Council, Wale Adewunmi, on Friday, 12th July, 2024, to commiserate and present monetary gift.

Comrade Olanrewaju, while speaking during the brief visit to the Oluwo, Abiola way Area residence of the deceased, said that the departed Adewunmi remains in the prayers and thoughts of the council and the members at this trying period.

The Council Chairman, who also spoke on the university scholarship given to the eldest daughter of the deceased by a member  of the Union and a Frontline Real Estate Mogul, Ambassador Babatunde Adeyemo, said the council would not leave the family in the lurch, as it would also be part of the educational progress of the eldest daughter.

“Moments after we heard about the demise of our colleague, we reached out to well- meaning members of the union, who contributed to ensure a befitting burial for the departed soul. After the burial rites expenses, we had a leftover and with other donations received totalled #125,000.

“That’s why we are here to handover the #125,000 to you so as to take care of the home front.

“We pray that Almighty God will strengthen and uphold you and the children, and they will attain greater heights in their endeavours”.

Responding, the wife of late Wale Adewunmi expressed utmost gratitude to the Union and the members, adding that she remained overwhelmed by the magnitude of love and support received from the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ogun State Council.

Great Achiever Magazine reports that the Chairman of the Council was accompanied by the Secretary of the Council, Comrade Bunmi Adigun, Treasurer, Idris Adelakun and other members of the Union.
