A former midfielder with Nigeria’s Super Eagles, Emmanuel Ebiede is dead.

He died at the age of 47 in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital following his battle with enlargement of the liver.

The late player was in the news recently after pictures depicting his ill health trended on social media, prompting the Rivers State Sports Commissioner, Chris Green to intervene, but it seems the help came a little too late.

Ebiede, who was capped three times by Nigeria, is noted to have also plied his trade in Belgium and The Netherlands.
