A Frontline politician and former Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Asiwaju Tele Ogunjobi, has congratulated Hon. Joseph Adegbesan for emerging winner of the House of Representatives election conducted on Saturday, 25th February, 2023.

Great Achiever Magazine reports that Hon Adegbesan, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Ijebu North/Ijebu East/Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency was declared winner after scoring 35,798 votes to defeat his closest rival and incumbent member of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abdel-Majid Adesegun Adekoya, the Deputy Minority Whip, who contested on the platform of PDP and scored 25,450 votes.

Ogunjobi said Hon Adegbesan’s victory was well deserved after his vigorous campaigns across the Federal Constituency.

He said Hon Adegbesan has the capacity and what it takes to excel as a Member of House of Representatives, having served as a Member of Ogun State House of Assembly where he recorded remarkable achievements.

Asiwaju Tele Ogunjobi, who recently decamped from PDP to APC said he was happy with the victory of Hon Adegbesan, adding that he had no regret for leaving PDP, as Adegbesan’s victory has vindicated his decision to abandon PDP at the right time.

Ogunjobi described PDP as a sinking ship which will continue to meet its waterloo at the polls as a result of injustices bedeviling the party.

Asiwaju Tele Ogunjobi urged Hon Adegbesan to work hard to deliver dividends of democracy to his constituents and offer good representation at the lower chamber of the National Assembly when he assumes office.

He also advised Hon Adegbesan to put the interest of his constituents first as a Federal Lawmaker and shun white elephant projects that will not have positive impacts on the lives of the people he is representing.
