The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has set Saturday February 4, 2023 for the conduct of a fresh Governorship election primary in Abia State.

This follows the demise of the Abia State Governorship Candidate for the 2023 general elections, Professor Uchenna Ikonne.

A statement by the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP Debo Ologunagba, said the party’s decision is in line with the provisions of section 33 of the electoral act 2022.

The party’s NWC also urged fresh aspirants for the Abia Governorship Position to participate in the current exercise alongside those who previously contested in the earlier primary.
