Nasrul Lahi-Fatih Society (NASFAT) says it has concluded plans to feed over 6,500 persons in about 130 outlets across the 22 zones of the society during the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

NASFAT Publicity Secretary, Akeem Yusuf, said in a statement in Lagos on Saturday, that the gesture had become a tradition for the society.

“This is a tradition of the society. We felicitate with Muslims in Nigeria and in the Diaspora to mark the end of Ramadan.

“The programme this year has been extended to zones of the society outside Nigeria,” he said.

He said that NASFAT also disbursed N60.9m in cash and food items to the vulnerable in the society as palliative measure to mitigate the effect of the lockdown occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The restriction of movement of persons and vehicles has greatly affected the means of livelihood of many Nigerians, particularly those who live on daily income.

“No fewer than 18,942 households and 113,652 people benefited from the disbursement across the 22 zones of the society over 47 days of the lockdown.

“Some households got N10,000.00 while some got food items. NASFAT ‘Feed a mouth’ programme took the center stage during the month of Ramadan,” he said.

He added that some of the outlets designated for the free meal to celebrate Eid-el-Fitr in Lagos zone included Alausa, Ikeja, Ogba, Imota, Epe and Ijora Olopa, just to mention few.
