               Hon. Yekeen Jayeola

The Chairman, Transition Committee, Ijebu North Local Government, Hon. Yekeen Jayeola, on Monday, began sensitisation of residents of the Council Area, on the importance of the use of face masks in containing the spread of the dreaded coronavirus pandemic.

The sensitisation is in line with the directive of the state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, to residents of Ogun State on the compulsory use of face masks.

Great Achiever Magazine reports that Governor Dapo Abiodun, while speaking to newsmen recently, had warned that any person who violates the directive on the use of face masks will be sent to isolation centre for 14 days.

Meanwhile, the Ijebu North local government sensitisation tour, took Hon. Jayeola and top officials of the local government to Obada and Atikori markets in Ijebu-Igbo, as well as Ago-Iwoye market.

Hon. Jayeola urged the market women and buyers alike to embrace the use of face masks, observe social distancing at all times and wash their hands regularly to curb the spread of COVID-19.

He advised residents of the local government to always adhere to government directives on several measures put in place to combat the coronavirus pandemic, warning that security operatives will soon start arresting defaulters.

Hon. Jayeola also commended Governor Abiodun for his untiring efforts and exemplary leadership in the fight against the deadly virus, which, according to him, will translate to success story in no distant time.
