Group calls for investigation of Imasayi incident

Imasayi Descendants Association in Diaspora has called on necessary authorities to conduct thorough investigations with respect to fundamental human rights of the people of Imasayi on recent invasion of the town by officers of the Joint Task Force on 14th and 15th March, 2020.

In a joint statement by the President  and Secretary of Imasayi Descendants Association in Diaspora, Chief (Dr.) Toye Moses and Mr Tunde Elegbede  from the United States of America, the authorities should leave no stone unturned to deliver true, swift and open justice.

According to the statement, ” we the people of Imasayi believe in Justice, Law and Order. Anyone found responsible and culpable in the breaking of law and in committing the ultimate crime of homicide, should be dealt with in accordance with the law. They should be severely punished for their crime and we do not harbour criminals in our midst” 

Dr. Moses  and Mr Elegbede appreciated the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for intervening during the military invasion of the town, calling on him not to allow the task force to intimidate and harass innocent people of the town as they go about their daily activities.

The duo further appreciated the Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, the Olu of Imasayi, Oba Adesola Oni, Senator Tolu Odebiyi and the State Commissioner of Police  among others for their roles in resolving the crisis.
