Oba Adesina Adenugba

The Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye, Oba
Abdul-Razaq Adesina Adenugba, has condemned attempt by a group of few people to
create division in Ago-Iwoye market.

Oba Adenugba made the strong
condemnation on Monday, during a meeting he had with market men and women at
his palace.

The monarch disclosed at the meeting
that he had information that a group in Ago-Iwoye market wanted to create
another market to be known as Obada market.

Oba Adenugba emphasised that the
approved and recognised markets in the town are; the Ago-Iwoye central market
which is serving the dual purpose of 5-day and daily market, as well as other
daily markets at approved locations across the town, in addition to the ancient
Ita-Ale market.

He said the people behind the illegal
Obada market are only out to create confusion and disturb the peaceful
commercial activities in the town, warning that he will not tolerate any
illegal activity of a group of few people whose sole aim is to be a clog in the
wheel of progress of the town.

Oba Adenugba directed the leadership
of the market to fully take charge and monitor the activities going on in the
market, while he urged all the market men and women to relate cordially with
the leadership of the market in order to prevent any crisis.

The monarch also called on all Quarter
Chiefs in the town to ensure peaceful atmosphere in the daily markets that are
located in their respective domain.

Speaking at the meeting, the
Iyaloja-elect, Otunba (Mrs.) Ronke Oduneye, apologised to Oba Adenugba for the
misbehaviour of the people behind the illegal Obada market, and assured that
nobody will be allowed to create division under any guise in Ago-Iwoye market.

Otunba (Mrs.) Oduneye pledged the
loyalty of the market men and women to the monarch and promised that they will
always put the interest of Ago-Iwoye first in whatever they do.

A youth leader in the market, Mrs
Amoke, also apologised on behalf of the market men and women to the monarch for
whatever wrongdoing they might have committed, and promised that Ago-Iwoye
market will continue to remain united.

All the market men and women at the
meeting thereafter jointly apologised to Oba Adenugba and pledged their loyalty
and support to him.
