Hon. Abdel-Majid Adesegun Adekoya, lawmaker representing Ijebu North/Ijebu East/Ogun Waterside Federal constituency in the House of Representatives, on Wednesday defeated Hon. Harrison Adeyemi, at the Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Hon. Adeyemi had filed a petition at the tribunal, seeking to upturn the victory of Hon. Adesegun Adekoya at the 2019 election.
The Tribunal struck out the petition after resolving in favour of Hon Adekoya, all the pending motions in the petition including Notice of Preliminary Objection challenging the locus standi of the Petitioner to institute the Petition and the competence of the Petition.
