Prof. Oduwole said Ago-Iwoye community has remained a good host, which the University is proud of, and therefore, the relief package donated is one of the ways of reciprocating the good gestures of the town to the University over the years.
The Deputy Vice Chancellor called
for more cooperation and understanding between the town and gown, saying that it is in an atmosphere of peaceful coexistence that sustainable development can be guaranteed.
Prof. Oduwole urged the residents of Ago-Iwoye to continue to observe the guidelines put in place by the government to combat the spread of coronavirus pandemic, such as, social distancing, constant washing of hands, wearing of face mask and such other directives.
In his response to the donation, the Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye, Oba Adesina Adenugba, commended the University for its magnanimity.
Oba Adenugba said the food items donated will no doubt bring succour to the beneficiaries, who at this crucial moment are finding it difficult to make ends meet.
The Royal Father also acknowledged the long standing relationship between Ago-Iwoye community and the University, which he described as very cordial.
He assured the University management of the community’s more support and cooperation that will be of mutual benefit.
