FUNAAB donates food palliatives to Ogun NUJ

Food items donated 
The Federal University of Agriculture (FUNAAB), Abeokuta, on Monday, donated several food items to members of OgunState Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).

The food items were received on behalf of NUJ by the Chairman of Caretaker Committee, Mrs. Lola Adeyinka.

The Vice Chancellor of FUNAAB, Prof Kolawole Salako, while presenting the food items, said the management of the University considered it necessary at this crucial moment to identify with journalists, who are in the frontline of reporting the various measures aimed at curbing the spread of coronavirus pandemic.

He disclosed that the food items will help to cushion the negative effects of the pandemic, saying that journalists deserve to be supported in carrying out their difficult assignments.

Prof Sala commended members of Ogun State Council of NUJ for their steadfastness and commitment to duty, and charged them to continue to be objective and unbiased in their reportage of the COVID-19.

Great Achiever Magazine reports that the food items donated include, Powdered Fufu, Garri, Palm oil, Pineapples, Eggs, Face masks, which, according to the Vice Chancellor, were produced by FUNAAB.

In her welcome remark, the Caretaker Committee Chairman, Mrs Adeyinka, thanked the Vice Chancellor, who was accompanied by top management staff, for their generosity.

She said NUJ was highly impressed and appreciative of the good gestures demonstrated by the University at this trying times, while she assured of more support for the University in the area of publicity of its activities.
