49-year-old Lawrence Itape, has killed his wife in the Ajah area of Lagos State.
Itape was alleged to have stabbed his wife to death over an argument about the non-availability of water in their seaside estate home.
Upon receiving the information, a team of detectives led by the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Langbasa, Stephen Abolarin, moved to the scene.
Confirming the incident, the Lagos State Police Command spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, explained that the suspect has been arrested and the knife used in the act recovered.
Hundehin said: “the case file and the suspect have been transferred to SCIID, Panti, Yaba in Lagos for discreet investigation”.
He added that the corpse has been deposited at the Mainland General Hospital mortuary, Yaba, Lagos for autopsy and preservation.
