Ago-Iwoye Club holds inaugural meeting, assures of inclusive membership

The inaugural meeting of the newly established Ago-Iwoye Club has been held.

The meeting, which took place on Saturday, 23rd November, 2024, was hosted by the Chairman of the Club’s Working Committee, Col (Dr) Demola Onalaja (rtd), the Balogun of Ago-Iwoye.

Col Onalaja, in his welcome remarks, congratulated members of the Working Committee for being part of history making. 

He told them to see their membership as a call to serve their community, urging them to work selflessly for the take off of the Club on a sound footing.

Onalaja was optimistic that the existence of Ago-Iwoye Club will bring more development to Ago-Iwoye town, noting that members of the Working Committee, who are pioneer members of the Club are people of great accomplishments who have excelled in their various professions and businesses.

He therefore urged them to bring to bear their wealth of experience in the various tasks and responsibilities assigned to them in ensuring that Ago-Iwoye Club is successful.

The Chairman, while inaugurating the five Sub-Committees that will drive the activities of the Club, urged members of each Sub-Committee to work tirelessly to deliver on their mandate in record time and also in the best interest of the Club.

He disclosed that the Club, which will be all inclusive, will begin to admit new members soon when it attains full formation.

The Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye, Oba Abdul-Razaq Adesina Adenugba, in his remarks during his solidarity visit to the Club after its meeting, thanked members for their acceptance to serve as pioneer members of the Club upon his pronouncement of establishment of Ago-Iwoye Club on 26th October, 2024.

Oba Adenugba noted that being pioneer member of Ago-Iwoye Club is a rare privilege, and advised the members to justify the confidence reposed in them for being chosen to serve in that capacity.

The Royal Father urged the members to be focused and committed in their various assignments, adding that with the calibre of people he assembled as pioneer members of Ago-Iwoye Club, the future of the Club is very bright.
