The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has given State governments until the end of the first quarter of 2025 to implement consequential adjustments for payment of the new National Minimum Wage or face down tools.
This was disclosed by the NLC Chief Internal and National Auditor, Mohammed Haruna, who doubles as the National President of the Senior Staff Association Union of Nigerian Universities (SSANU).
Haruna, who was in the company of former NLC President, Ayuba Wabba, used the opportunity to tell the government to do everything possible to stop workers’ strikes, especially by keeping to agreements reached.
The Labour leaders were speaking at a workshop for newly elected officials of SSANU.
