INEC declares Aiyedatiwa winner of Ondo governorship election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has declared Lucky Aiyedatiwa as the winner of the Ondo State governorship election held on Saturday, 16th November, 2024.

According to the results announced by the Returning Officer, Prof Olayemi Akinwunmi, Vice Chancellor of the University of Lokoja, the candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Lucky Aiyedatiwa scored 366,781 votes to defeat his closest rival, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Agboola Ajayi, who scored 117,845 votes. The Zenith Labour Party's candidate, Dr Abass Mimiko scored 2692 votes, while the Labour Party's candidate, Olorunfemi Festus scored 1162 votes.
