The rehabilitation of Ijebu-Ode-Sagamu-Ore road has begun, following the appeal made by Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, to the federal government, thereby reducing traffic bottleneck along the axis.

The Ogun State Comptroller General, Federal Ministry of Works, Engr. (Mrs.) Oloyede Foroshola, while speaking with newsmen who were on media tour of the road, said federal government would ensure that the condition of the road was transformed, not only to improve economic viability of the area, but to checkmate incessant traffic bottleneck associated with the route.

Great Achiever Magazine reports that in a statement by the Press Officers of the Ogun State Ministry of Works & Infrastructure, Femi Olayinka and Adesola Ogunbanwo, Engr. Forosola said the Minister of Works, David Umahi, had charged the construction company handling the rehabilitation process to ensure that necessary measures, including de-flooding of the flooded portion, as well as construction of box culverts, binders and other relevant materials were put in place.

She said the rehabilitation began from Sagamu Interchange to Itele with 60km on either side, noting that safety measures and control of vehicular movement during the exercise would be provided by the Federal Road Safety Corp and Traffic Compliance Enforcement Agency (TRACE).

According to the Contractor on site, Engr. Marc Semaan, the road rehabilitation, though a federal government initiative, was facilitated by the Ogun State Government, adding that necessary materials and logistics had been provided to effectively carry out the rehabilitation in the best professional manner, while promising that it would be delivered in record time.

In their separate contributions, a commercial bus driver, Adekunle Koletowo and a petrol attendant, Abosede Shonibare, noted that the Road, when completed, would massively improve economic activities in the area leading to individual prosperity.
